Don't buy
the wrong boat.
You're about to spend real money on a boat, and getting it wrong is expensive for years. This is the guide that keeps that from happening — six short chapters, about twenty minutes, honest enough that some of it costs us sales.
What's in it
- 01How you'll actually use itThe most expensive mistake is buying for the 10% use case.
- 02New, used, or consignmentWhen used is the smarter buy — and what to walk away from.
- 03What the number really meansMSRP versus out-the-door. Prep, freight, doc fees — and what a fair one looks like.
- 04Trade-insHow yours gets valued, what raises and lowers it, and why payoff and value are two different conversations.
- 05FinancingTerms, rates, pre-approval — and what a low monthly payment can hide.
- 06The part nobody asks aboutService turnaround, winterization, storage. Who fixes it in July.
Who made it
Nate Romain — co-founder of Montana Wake Co. Ranch kid, Flathead Lake summers, worked the oil fields and saved for his first boat, then found out the support he needed didn't exist within forty miles. So he and Lindsey built it — a real shop, opened in Billings in 2023, now covering Montana's water from two locations.

What it costs
